Business Opportunities Galore

If you search Google for “business opportunity“, then a Wikipedia article always seems to come out on top of the results. Now, what words of wisdom are delivered in that article?

In a nutshell, it boils down to something like this:

1. It begins with some need

2. Then there is some potential of fulfilling the need

3. Third: there is a way to fulfill the need AND make a profit

If all three clauses are there, then you have a business opportunity!

Well, if you think about it, this is not exactly rocket science. There has always been money to be made by offering a solution to some need. For example: I am a woodcutter and I happen to need an axe. How do I get an axe? Probably by buying one, unless I happen to be skilled both as a woodcutter AND a blacksmith.

How about that business opportunity — selling axes to wood cutters!

Obviously, I don’t need to be a blacksmith to sell axes. I can buy the axes somewhere and re-sell them at a profit. It is called being a salesman. Salesmen can even get rich if they are skilled at their profession.

Think about it: the Internet is a fantastic new way of distributing all kinds of things? Thanks to the Web, you can set up a web site and start selling products very easily. And the best part is that you don’t even need to have your own inventory of products to sell them.

There is money to be made by simply helping others market their stuff. This is usually called being an “affiliate”. You get paid commissions from each sale you have sent to the merchant.

Sounds great, right? No inventory or customer support needed. It is indeed a great business opportunity if you do it right.

Also you can get into the affiliate business with hardly any investment. The best part is you don’t even need your own web site to get started. For example, you can set up a web page at such places as Squidoo.com.

OK, do you need to be a computer geek to do this? Definitely not! If you know how to send an email, then you can set up a web page at places like Squidoo. There is absolutely no programming required.

Did you know that there are people out there making millions by promoting other people’s stuff? I have peronally made many thousands of dollars that way. Companies like Amazon.com use affiliates to sell their stuff; indeed you can find thousands of different products to promote as an affiliate.
