Breaking Up is Hard to Do

If the carpool isn’t working out the way you planned, it may be best for you to just quit. However, depending in the relationship you’ve formed with the group, a simple disbanding from the carpool may cause far-reaching consequences.

If you’re working in the same environment, guilty drivers can carry hurt feelings or hold grudges making uncomfortable situations after you’ve left the group. Similarly, neighbors and friends may feel a gap in their relationships after realizing that they aren’t compatible on the road. Even the most unemotional person among us may find it difficult to give a friendly hi or wave to a neighbor who has discovered that he or she is irresponsible and always late, and therefore not advisable to share a ride with anymore. Whatever the situation may be, try to break up from the group without hurting anyone’s feelings as much as possible.
